For more than a century, The South African Breweries has been brewing quality
beers enjoyed by millions of South Africans. Established in 1895, SAB Ltd was
the first industrial company to be listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange,
in 1897. SAB now employs some 8,800 people in South Africa alone. It owns seven
breweries, with a brewing capacity of 31.4 hectolitres or 3.1 billion litres.
South Africans currently consume just under 2.6 billion litres of beer a year,
in contrast to 300 million litres of wine and therefore, there is every reason
to call South Africa “Beer Country”. Welcome to the world of SAB. |
