The Strawberry Farm |
Bring
the whole family, spend the day with a picnic or
a braai, enjoy a fabulous Horse Trail, visit our
craft shop filled with homemade sweets and other
delightful goodies. Join us for Breakfast, Scrumptious
Tea and Homemade Cakes or a Light Lunch on the
banks of our dam.
How it works:
• Organic Strawberry
Picking is available to the public from 10:00 till
16:00 every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday
during the Strawberry season.
• The season extends
from approximately mid-September to mid-December
every year. Exact dates are dependant on the weather.
• We will advise you of these dates if you leave
us your name and e-mail address, or your cell phone
number.
• On arrival a non-refundable entry fee is charged
to enter Tangaroa Farm. This entitles you to picnic,
or to use our braai facilities, or, during strawberry
season, to pick organically grown strawberries
and also mulberries when they are ripe.
• Should
you wish to take strawberries home, we provide
a small bucket to pack the strawberries in. These
strawberries are weighed and charged out at the
going rate per kilogram.
• The Tea Garden is open
for breakfast orders until 11:00, light lunches
and of course, many decadent strawberry delights
are also served on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public
Holidays throughout the strawberry season.
• Picnic
baskets are available all year round, during the
day or as a candle-light option. Your order and
a bank deposit along with 24 hours notice is required
to enable the kitchen to prepare all the delightful
goodies that make up this basket, or alternatively
bring along your own picnic, or braai, and relax
under the trees next to our dam.
• Special interest
and school groups who would like to come strawberry
picking are accommodated by appointment during
weekdays throughout the strawberry season.
• Try
our delicious homemade Strawberry Jam, or take
home a beaded strawberry key ring or other momento
of your visit.
• Please Note: As we have many animals
that run free on our farm, we do not under any
circumstances allow visitors pets or other animals,
at Tangaroa. |
